That man prepared for a record breaking speech by fasting. Hadn’t eaten for days. He was in a different kind of wilderness where perhaps his ancestors had been waking him up at night with the words, tell it. He also stopped drinking fluids the night before his speech. His heart was as light as a feather, but so were his pockets, emptied of everything except for a notecard where he penned the Bible verse Isaiah 40:31—“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” He was in a different kind of wilderness, and the people are asking whether he was wearing a diaper. No, he felt his “biological urgencies,” and his muscles spasmed because he has a body. He also had a word. They put a spell on you.

was the word. And the word was
made fresh in our mouths.
